Prince George's northern location makes it a great winter city, with a cross country ski season that begins in December and runs into April. The Caledonia Nordics Ski Club does an excellent job of maintaining an extensive ski trail network at the Otway Road Cross Country Ski Centre, located 15 minutes by car from the UNBC campus. The ski centre includes a day cabin, wax room, lighted trails, and a biathlon range.

Dry land training begins in September and weekly group training schedules are posted on the Training Schedule page. On-snow training will begin as soon as weather permits, and the Race Calendar kicks off in early December.
